PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability and safety by laying a lead wire connected to a motor without bending it, applying unreasonable tension thereto and twisting it and preventing the lead wire from being broken and deformed in a suction means for a vacuum cleaner provided with rotating brushes rotated by a motor and a vacuum cleaner communicating with the suction means for the vacuum cleaner. SOLUTION: Rotating brushes 20 integrated with a motor 32 for driving are rotatably provided in the suction chamber 29 of a suction means body 19 so as to face an inlet port 28 opened to the lower surface of the suction means body 19. The suction means body 19 comprises a lower case 53 and an upper case 54 with which the upper surface of the lower case 53 is covered. The lower case 53 and the upper case 54 form a support part 55 for supporting the hollow shaft 43 of the rotating brushes 20. In the support part 55, a lead wire outlet part 64 for leading out a lead wire 36 connected to the motor 32 is formed, the lead wire outlet part 64 communicates with a space part formed in the connection part of the lower case 53 and the upper case 54.
