PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart a durably decorative design having a specially decorative property to a grip made of a porous material. SOLUTION: In a fishing rod having a grip 2 made of a porous material at the rear end of itself, the outer surrounding surface of the grip 2 is wounded except a defined width of its region with a non-slip thread 3, a wound and unwound regions are coated with a semitransparently colored paint film 4 and a transparent protective coat layer 5 is formed on the film 4 in the unwound region. In accordance with this invention, the grip is easily imparted with a colorful and special decoration design, and the design imparted to the grip don't come off and has a lot of durability.
