PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily removing a tack agent from a substrate without complicating the production process for liquid crystal panels, and to improve the handleability of bases through making use of a substrate in the assembly process for such panels as well. SOLUTION: This method for removing a tack agent from a substrate comprises the following process: a sealing material 13 is made of a thermosetting resin and the tack layer 22 of an adhesive sheet 20 is so designed as to lose its tackiness on heating, therefore, by simultaneously heating both the sealing material 13 and tack layer 22, the sealing material 13 is cured so as to retain the shape of a liquid crystal cell, and at the same time, the tack agent of the tack layer 22 is changed so as to substantially lose its tackiness as described above. Thereafter, on releasing pressure, the adhesive sheet 20 can be released or detached from the substrate 30 without applying risky stress onto the liquid crystal cell. Finally, the adhesive sheet 20 left on the substrate 30 is irradiated with ultraviolet rays to considerably reduce the tackiness of the tack layer 23, and the adhesive sheet 20 is subsequently released from the substrate 30.
