An appts. for dissolving and dispensing soluble solids, e.g., calcium hypochlorite, comprises a closed vessel subdivided by a partition into upper and lower chambers, the upper chamber being further subdivided by a generally vertical partition into first and second chambers; an inlet into the upper part of the first chamber feeds incoming liq. into a pivotally mounted, lockable vessel, which can be periodically tilted to discharge the liq. into this first chamber; while flow regulator permits controlled flow of liq. from the lower part of the first chamber contains a magazine having a perforated bottom; this magazine contains the soluble solids so that the liq. entering the lower pa*t of the second chamber can percolate upwards through the perforated bottom of the magazine into the solids above; liq. is discharged from this second chamber, below the perforated floor, through an outlet pipe, pref. having a weir around its inlet, into the lower chamber of the entire unit. This lower chamber has an outlet and a second flow regulator, esp. a float valve, for finally discharging the soln.
|
