PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply obtain a synthesis image between a black/white binary image forming a background image and a foreground image that is a translucent image for the superposition purpose with a small storage capacity by selecting a pixel of an object image according to a prescribed algorithm on the basis of whether or not the pixel of an object image resides in an overlapped area between the foreground and the background. SOLUTION: In the case that a printer prints out an object image as a black/white binary synthesis picture, an area of a foreground image of the object image overlapped on a background image is extracted and a probability variable is assigned to each pixel. Whether an n-th pixel of the object image resides in the outside or the inside of the overlapped area is discriminated on the basis of size information B of the background image and arrangement and size information F of the foreground image. In the case that the n-th pixel is at the outside of the area, a pixel of the background image corresponding to the n-th pixel is selected and in the case that the n-th pixel is in the inside of the area, the number (i) of sheets of the foreground image overlapped on the n-th pixel is calculated, and a pixel corresponding to a j-th foreground image, where (j) satisfies an expression, or a pixel of the background image corresponding to the n-th pixel is selected according to a prescribed algorithm as the n-th pixel of the object image. |
