PURPOSE: A method for fabricating a waveguide array for a plane display panel using a waveguide is provided to simplify a fabrication process thereof. CONSTITUTION: In a fabricating method of a waveguide array, a plurality of grooves(32) are formed on a metallic substrate(30) by mechanical cutting, laser heating, etching, or pressing, and then filled with liquid polymer(34) for forming waveguides. Next, the liquid polymer(34) is cured, and the cured polymer(36) is then polished. Thereby, the formation of the waveguide array is completed. Additionally, an oxide layer may be preformed on the metallic substrate(30) to reduce the loss of light transmitted along waveguides before the liquid polymer(34) fills the grooves(32). And, an insulating substrate such as a glass substrate may be alternatively used instead of the metallic substrate(30). Furthermore, a transparent electrode(38) may be thinly deposited on a surface of the waveguide array.
