An optical compensation sheet comprising an optical anisotropic layer formed from liquid crystal molecules oriented at an average inclination angle of less than 5 DEG and a transparent support, the optical compensation sheet having an in-plane (Re) retardation within a 10 to 1000 nm range and a thickness-direction (Rth) retardation within a 10 to 1000 nm range.
