In the present invention there are described 7-(2-aminoethyl)benzothiazolones of the general formula I, in which X and Y represent independently on each other the group -S(O)in- or oxygen, a is 0, 1 or 2, p, q and r are independently on each other 2 or 3, Z represents phenyl being optionally substituted with a halogen, the group of the formula -0Re1, a nitro group or the group of the formula NRe2Re3, or it can represent a five- or six-membered heterocycle containing nitrogen, oxygen or sulfur and Re1, Re2 and Re3 represent independently on each other hydrogen or alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms. In the present invention there are also claimed pharmaceutically acceptable derivatives of the above described compounds, processes for preparing such compounds, pharmaceutical preparations in which they are comprised as well as intermediates for their preparation.
