PURPOSE: A can of squire shape secondary battery is provided to solve problems of degradation for the battery characteristics by causing the pressure is concentrated and the current density is increased in a certain position due to the volume expansion when an electrode roll, which is wounded a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator together, performs charge or discharge operation. CONSTITUTION: In a can of squire shape secondary battery, a wide(a) of a central part of a long axis direction in the consideration of cutting and seeing a can(40) in a horizontal direction is formed according to the electrode roll(2). The wide(a) of the central part is bigger 1¯1.2 times than a wide of the left or right side. And wide(a) of the central part is put under pressure uniformly as a whole the volume of the electrode roll is expanded by charging or discharging in the battery, since the wide(a) is uniformly stuck to the electrode roll put the inside of the can.
