PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lens hood attached/detached even when it is somewhat deformed, quickly attached to a lens main body and surely attached so that it may not fall off as the lens hood of a large-sized photographing lens called ultra-telephoto lens. SOLUTION: This lens hood attaching device is equipped with a pair of projection parts 2 whose diameter is smaller than the large-diameter part 17 of a lens barrel 11 and is larger than a 1st small-diameter part 15 at the edge of the lens barrel 11 and a projection part 3 which is in the middle of a pair of projection parts 2 and whose diameter is a little larger than the projection part 2 on the edge side of the lens hood from the projection part 2 in the inner periphery part of the lens hood 1. A pair of pawl parts 21 is tightened through a screw at a position different from the projection part 2 in the radial direction of an optical axis on an opposite side in an optical axial direction to the projection part 3 with respect to the projection part 2 on the outer periphery part of the rear end of the lens hood 1. An elastic member 22 such as rubber is fit in the edge part coming in contact with the lens barrel 11 of the pawl part 21.
