PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent one-sided abrasion at a bellows portion, prevent durability at a sherapack portion from being degraded, and let stiffness in the horizontal direction be anisotropic by enhancing stiffness only in the right and left directions without changing stiffness in the vertical and longitudinal directions. SOLUTION: In this air spring, the upper lid 13 of the air spring 11 is connected with the lower end of a sherapack 14 in the longitudinal direction by a thin plate 15. The thin plate 15 is mounted thereto so as to be freely rotated with respect to the lower end of the sherapack 14. This constitution thereby enables only stiffness in the right and left directions to be enhanced without changing stiffness in the vertical and longitudinal directions, and concurrently, no one-sided abrasion will never take place in a bellows portion. Besides, the durability of the sherapack portion will never be degraded. And furthermore, a car body can be smoothly rotated with respect to a bogie.
