摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is capable of relieving the distortion of a glass substrate by the influence of temperature and pressure at the time of packaging of IC chips (hereafter described as DrIC chips) for liquid crystal drive and suppressing a color irregularity arising in the display region near the DrIC chips. SOLUTION: The chip shape of at least one of the DrIC chips 12 and 13 for signal electrode drive and scanning electrode drive to be packaged on a glass substrate 1 is formed in a polygonal shape exclusive of a rectangular shape inclusive of a square shape. The DrIC chips 12 and 13 have the effect of relieving the distortion by the difference in the coefficient of expansion from the glass substrate which occurs at the time of packaging of the DrIC chips and suppressing the occurrence of tool irregularity as compared with the DrIC chips 12 and 13 of the rectangular shape of the same packaging area on the glass substrate by forming the shape of the DrIC chips 12 and 13 to the polygonal shape exclusive of the rectangular shape inclusive of the square shape.</p>
