PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To roughly uniformize a friction coefficient of a slide contact surface over the whole thereof by using a material formed with a coated part of rubber and the like on a generally whole surface of each strand, when manufacturing a dry clutch facing having a fiber-made base material, rubber, thermo-setting resin, and a friction improving agent. SOLUTION: A material 1 is manufactured by a process for obtaining a strand gathering 3 generally shaped in a band by arranging a plurality of strands 2 in parallel by applying opening treatment on a roving 15 in an opening part B; an adding process of mixed liquid 7 containing compounded rubber, an uncured thermo-setting resin, and a friction improving agent on the strand gathering 3 in a mixed liquid adding part C; and forming process of a coated part 4 from the mixed liquid 7 by applying drying treatment on the strand gathering 3 in a drying part D. Then, processes of obtaining a ring-shaped plate preliminary molded element by using the material 1 and of applying pressure-molding on the preliminary molded element under heating are employed.
