A gas barbecue 10 has an oven section 11 and a cover 12. The cover 12 has side connection pieces (121, fig.2A) with holes (122, fig.2A) formed therein which align with holes (113, fig.2A) on the oven section 11. A pair of bolts 13 fix the two pieces together by extending inwards through the aligned holes (113, 122). A pair of caps 132 are screwed onto the bolts, and rotation of the caps 132 pushes the connection pieces (121, fig.2A) towards the oven section 11, holding the cover 12 in position due to friction. The heating device in the oven section 11 is a gas plate 21, and an ignition control unit 23, gas pipe 22 and gas supply 24 are positioned outside the oven section 11. There may be a handle 120 positioned on the cover 12. A heat balancing plate 25 may be used to cover the gas plate. |
