PURPOSE: An apparatus for compensating atmospheric magnetism and a cathode ray tube display device is provided to perform various compensations such as position, convergence, automatically. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for compensating atmospheric magnetism and a cathode ray tube display device includes a deflection yoke(13), a convergence compensation coil(14), a landing compensation coil(15), a cathode ray tube(16), a magnetism sensor(2), a manipulator(6) and drive circuits(10,11,12). The cathode ray tube(16) includes the deflection yoke(13), the convergence compensation coil(14) and the landing compensation coil(15). The magnetism sensor(2) detects the vertical component of the atmospheric magnetism. The manipulator(6) determines first thru third parameters according to the detection signal. The drive circuits(10,11,12) supplies current to the deflection yoke(13), the convergence compensation coil(14) and the landing compensation coil(15) according to each of the parameters.
