PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly efficient light source device for a dielectric barrier discharge lamp by efficiently producing excimer molecules. SOLUTION: This device includes a lamp 1 having a discharge plasma space filled with a discharge gas to produce excimer molecules with dielectric barrier discharge and constructed with dielectrics 5, 6 laid between at least one of both electrodes 3, 4 for inducing a discharge phenomenon in the discharge gas and the discharge gas and a feeder 7 using a flyback inverter and a step-up transformer to apply high voltage to the electrodes 3, 4 for the lamp 1. Even when a switching element for the flyback inverter is turned on, effective discharge is generated in the discharge lamp. |
