PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an isolation work method and isolation device and the like of a stop valve, capable of overhauling the stop valve without being restricted by water draining period for water storage tank, by closing a strainer placed in the water storage tank with the isolation device in disassembling inspection of the stop valve. SOLUTION: In this isolation work method of stop valve, an open end arranged in S/C(suppression chamber) 3 at the tip end of a system pipe 5, in which the S/C 3 of the water storage tank and a submerged valve 7 of the stop valve connected to the S/C 3, is closed in water by an isolation device 15. The maintenance and checking of the submerged valve 7 can be conducted without having to drain the S/C retained water 4 in the S/C 3.
