PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color-developed stainless product excellent in mechanical strength and corrosion resistance and capable of color developing by low temp. heating and to provide a stainless material used therefor. SOLUTION: This color-developed stainless product is the one formed of color-developed stainless steel provided with a base material composed of stainless steel and a copper coating film covering the base material, in which, at least on the surface of the copper coating film, an oxidized coating film of Cu2+ (CuO) having 10 to 40% oxygen atomic concn. by the oxidation of the copper coating film is formed, and, moreover, on the surface of the oxidized coating film, an organic substance of 0.2 to 5.0 g/m2 coating weight is adhered.
