<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a reference plane at a specific position on a standing still object carefully watched by an observer, and to easily and precisely recognize the reference plane set by the observer with smaller computational complexity in a best focusing state. SOLUTION: This plane recognizing device recognizes a reference plane at a specific position on an arbitrary standing still object is provided with light source blocks BLi (i=1-8) attached to desired positions on a wall surface 1, a panning CCD device 23 which demarcates an area to be watched carefully by picking up the images of the blocks BLi attached to the wall surface 1 and, when an arbitrary one of the blocks BLi is watched, picks up the image of the block BLi watched in the area to be watched in an enlarged state, and a picture processor 3 which finds the position of the block BLi by picture- processing the luminance signal obtained when the image of the block BLi is picked up by means of the CCD device 23. The reference plane is set at a specific position on the wall surface 1 based on the positional information of the light source block BLi.</p> |
