PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition which has a good initial adherence as well as peeling property by including a polymer with a specified weight-average molecular weight as a main component which contains a carbonate group and an ester group intervened between a hydrocarbon group composed of a branched and straight chain hydrocarbon groups having a specified ratio in the main chain. SOLUTION: This adhesive composition comprises, as a main component, a polymer with a weight-average molecular weight of 20,000 or more containing a carbonate group (A) represented as formula I and an ester group (B) represented as formula II intervened between the hydrocarbon group in the main chain and contains a branched hydrocarbon group (C) represented as formula III and a straight chain hydrocarbon group (D) represented as formula IV: -(CH2)p-. The ratio of the components A and B is preferably A/(A+B)=0.40-0.98 by molar ratio, and the ratio of the components C and D is preferably C/(C+D)=0.1-0.8 by molar ratio. In the formulae I to IV, R1 to R3 are a hydrocarbon group; (m) and (n) are each 1-7; m+n is 3-9; and (p) is 4-10.
