PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more effectively foldable container by aligning in substantially predetermined shape and a method for folding the container. SOLUTION: A bottle 10 has folding lines 20 to become troughs on respective sides of a body 16 having substantially rectangular sides. First and second oblique surfaces 22 and 24 inclined toward inward as directed toward the folding line are formed at both sides of the line 20. The bottle 10 is folded by inlay folding the surfaces 22 and 24 at the line 20 as a boundary. First, second oblique surface reinforcing ribs 30 and 32 for respectively reinforcing the oblique surfaces 22 and 24, a peripheral rib 40 for reinforcing an upper side 10A along the upper side 10A of a side face, and longitudinal ribs 42 for reinforcing two sides 10B along the two sides 10B of the side face are provided on the body 16. |
