PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coat liquid which is free from being mixed by a method wherein an undercoating coater head and a final coating coater head are arranged around a backing roll, and a clearance between a liquid feed part for sending out a coating liquid and a blade for controlling a layer thickness of the coating liquid is changeably constituted in the final coating coater head. SOLUTION: An undercoating coating liquid 11 is sprayed to paper 3 from an undercoating coater head 4, and a layer thickness is adjusted by a blade 8 to prepare a coat layer 6. Then, after recoating a final coating coating liquid 12 sprayed from a final coating liquid feed head 14a on the coat layer 6, a thickness of a coat layer 7 is made a specific thickness by a final coating head 16a having a blade 9. In this case, the final coating liquid feed head 14a is provided movably on a circumference of a backing roll 2, and a distance from a tip of the liquid feed head 14a to the blade 9 is made variable. By adopting thus a blade coater wherein liquid feed and scratching off are separated for the liquid feed head 14a, a coat paper which is free from mixing of an undercoating layer with a final coating layer can be manufactured.
