PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance performance of a color selecting mechanism of a cathode- ray tube by increasing stiffness in the central part of a frame of the color selecting mechanism of the cathode-ray tube. SOLUTION: A color selecting mechanism 10 is constituted by stretching many belt-shaped grid unit bodies on a frame 12 comprising a pair of supporting members 17 (17D, 17U) and a pair of elasticity giving members 18 (18L, 18R) fixed to between the supporting members 17, and length and breadth ratio of the L-shaped cross section of a pair of supporting members 17 is gradually changed to change stepwise the cross section secondary moment of the supporting members 17 from the center to the end.
