PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make performable the work for charging a lubricant or the like into a rotary drum without relying on manual operation. SOLUTION: The charging apparatus is constituted of a carrying device 3 loading a bottomed cylindrical small container 2 housing a lubricant or the like to be charged in a rotary drum 8 and carrying the small container 2, a holding and carrying device 4 holding the small container 2 to carry it to a predetermined position, a stock stand 5 for stocking the small container 2 after the lubricant or the like is charged in the rotary drum and a control device 6 for controlling the driving of the carrying device 3 and the holding and carrying device 4.
