BIOLOGICAL DEODORANT AND BIOLOGICAL DEODORIZATION EQUIPMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biological deodorant having higher deodorization capability than a conventional biological deodorant using an inorganic carrier and capable of keeping the deodorization capability for a long duration and to provide a biological deodorization equipment capable of keeping the excellent deodorization capability against a malodorous gas for a long duration. SOLUTION: This biological deodorant comprises deodorizing microorganisms immobilized in a porous granular carbide produced by mixing carbides containing 3-80% of a carbon component and produced by carbonizing dewatered sludge containing organic mater such as cellulose, preferably carbides produced by firing paper sludge containing solid matter of wastewater from a paper manufacturing plant, with an inorganic binder and firing or sintering the resultant mixture. The granular carbide has a columnar or a cylindrical shape, the outer diameter (diameter) of 4-17 mm, the length in the axial direction of 4-80 mm. A packed tower 2 filled with such a biological deodorant is installed and a water supply equipment 3 for cultivate microorganism is attached to the packed tower 2 and a forcible ventilation equipment 5 is installed in a ventilation route to constitute the biological dedorization equipment.
