PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component mounter and mounting method in which mounting accuracy of component onto a substrate can be sustained at a high level constantly. SOLUTION: A component mounter comprises means 111 for mounting a substrate movable in X and Y directions, means 119 for containing a plurality of components movable in Y direction, means 118 for carrying a component taken out from the containing means movable in X direction, means 109 for mounting a component received from the carrying means on the substrate movable in Z direction, means 116 for detecting positional shift of the substrate every time when a component is mounted by the mounting means, and means for storing the detected positional shift of the substrate and controlling respective means. After carriage of component is executed arbitrary number of times by the carrying means, the control means determines the average positional shift and shifts the containing means and the carrying means reversely by the average shift when next carriage of component is executed. |
