PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrophotographic photoreceptor with which stable images of high picture quality can be obtd. for a long term by incorporating a polycarbonate resin having a specified structural unit into the surface layer of the photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The surface of the photoreceptor having a photosensitive layer on a conductive supporting body contains a polycarbonate resin having the structural unit expressed by the formula. In the formula, each of R11 and R12 is a 1-6C alkyl group or aryl group, and n is an integer 1 to 3. The material of the conductive supporting body of the photoreceptor is not specified, and aluminum or its alloy currently widely used can be used. If the material of the supporting body has no conductivity, it is necessary to form a conductive layer on the body to prepare the conductive supporting body and then to apply the photosensitive layer. As for the conductive layer, a thin film of a conductive material such as metals and metal oxides is formed by vapor deposition or sputtering, or a conductive resin is applied.
