The cylinder head has at least one combustion chamber with an inlet (4) and exhaust valve per chamber, inlet (10) and exhaust (11) channels leading to the inlet and exhaust valves, an injection valve (18) and at least one ignition plug (20) per combustion chamber. The inlet and exhaust channels are designed to both lie on one side of a plane (E) through the axis of the inlet or exhaust valve and the engine's longitudinal axis, with the injection valve and ignition plug on the other side of the plane.
