Digitally controlled compensation unit for driver circuit used for input=output pad cells of integrated circuit

The compensation unit has a circuit including a reference current source (2) which produces a reference signal modulated w.r.t. an input signal. A comparison current source (3) produces a comparison signal modulated w.r.t. the input signal. The characteristic of the modulated comparison signals is the inverse of the modulated reference signals. A comparator (4) receives the modulated reference signals and the modulated comparison signals, and produces a digital output which is supplied to the driver circuit. The modulation parameters include temperature, supply voltage and/or process parameters.
