PURPOSE: A variable apparatus of a decoding bit for a receiver of CDMA mobile communication system is provided to proceed channel decoding, determining decoding bit variably according to channel status by generating channel reliability coefficient using the output value of a channel estimation device to compensate the deterioration of received data. CONSTITUTION: A variable decoding bit determination device for inputting reliability coefficient is composed of a level optimization device(135) and a level selection device(137). The level optimization device(135) having a decoding bit level table for a range of variable reliability coefficient outputs decoding bit level for inputting reliability coefficient. The level selection device(137) having a decoding bit table as per the decoding bit level determines and outputs decoding bit as per the decoding bit level.
