LCD AND ITS FABRICATION METHOD

PURPOSE: An LCD and manufacturing method thereof maintain the original surface flatness of an organic dielectric layer and prevent the uneven surface of a passivation layer. CONSTITUTION: An organic dielectric layer(126) of benzocyclobutene(BCB) including Si bonding structure is coated on the front surface of a transparent substrate(111). Then, a photo resist is removed with a wet strip method by using a compound of an n-methyl-pyrrolidone(NMP), an alcohol and an amine not to etch the surface of the organic dielectric layer(126). A surface oxide film(126') of a SiOx is formed in the surface of the organic dielectric layer(126) by soaking the photo resist-removed substrate(111) in a nitric acid or a sulfuric acid. So, the organic dielectric layer(126) and the surface oxide film(126') form a flat passivation layer(200) for enhancing the adhesiveness with an ITO layer to be laminated on the passivation layer(200). The passivation layer(200) reduces the crack of the ITO layer caused by the thermal expansion coefficient difference between the organic dielectric layer(126) and the ITO layer.
