PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce interleukin 12 usable for prevention or treatment of infectious disease, or the like by introducing both of a recombinant vector containing a gene of p35 subunit, and a recombinant vector containing a gene of p40 subunit into a host cell, and expressing the gene therein. SOLUTION: This method for producing bovine interleukin 12 comprising a heterodimer of p35 subunit and p40 subunit comprises separating mRNA from peripheral blood mononucleosis separated from bovine abomasum lymph node by a conventional method, synthesizing a cDNA by using the mRNA, and subjecting the obtained cDNA to each PCR method by using primers comprising a partial sequence of p35 subunit gene, and a partial sequence of p40 subunit gene to obtain each gene, them incorporating these genes into vectors respectively to provide a recombinant vector containing the gene encoding the p35 subunit, and a recombinant vector containing the gene encoding the p40 subunit, introducing these vectors into a host cell, and allowing the genes to express to provide the objective bovine interleukin 12. |
