PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a barrier rib of a fine color plasma display panel at a high yield by sand blasting or the like. SOLUTION: A barrier rib material layer 6 is formed in a board 63 in the nearly same area with an area forming a barrier rib. The end of a resist barrier rib pattern 60 of the barrier rib is extended as a resist extension pattern 62 to an area, to which barrier rib material layer 61 is not formed. With this structure, the peripheral edge of the barrier rib material layer 61 is protected by a resist extension pattern 62 and the scraping and deformation of the barrier rib material layer 61 by the external force are prevented. Thereafter, an unwanted barrier rib material layer, which is not coated with the resist, is removed by sand blasting or the like so as to obtain a barrier rib group having an accurate profile.
