PURPOSE: A wire/wireless telephone set capable of selecting an audible ring signal type or a busy signal type is provided to change the audible ring signal type or the busy signal type to melody stored in a memory of the telephone set. CONSTITUTION: When a user picks up a receiver(30) and presses certain buttons to input desired sounds, a sound input unit(50) stores the inputted sounds in a memory(40). A controller(80) converts the audible ring signal type or the busy signal type to the desired melody or the desired sound according to a user's taste and then outputs the converted signals to the receiver(30), while an audible ring signal or a busy signal from a telephone office of the other side is inputted to a telephone set(10) via the telephone office of the user's side.
