PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch device capable of carrying out much more control operations than the number of change-over switches while making the number of the change-over switches less and to realize a small-sized electronic instrument. SOLUTION: In the switch device, a pair of assemblies comprising a push button having an operation shaft having a small diameter, a hollow operation shaft in which the operation shaft having the small diameter is freely movable, and a hollow operation shaft having a large diameter in which the hollow operation shaft is freely movable; and a change-over switch carrying out an on-off change-over action corresponding to the motions of the operation shaft having a small diameter, the hollow operation shaft and the hollow operation shaft having the large diameter of the push button are provided at a plurality of numbers. The switch device is provided with a third push button provided so as to be interlocked with a hollow operation shaft of a second button interlocking with the hollow operation shaft of the above operation button; and another operation button provided so as to be interlocked with the hollow operation shaft of the fourth operation button interlocking with the hollow operation shaft having a large diameter of the above push button. Much more numbers of switch controls than the number of the change-over switches are carried out by reading two-value signal of H and L outputted from a plurality of change-over switches.
