PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing circuit which can correctly receive data through a data transmission line. SOLUTION: In an MD device 2, adaptive transform acoustic coding(ATRAC) data read from a mini disk(MD) 3 are transmitted to a link/layer circuit 12 through an IEEE 1394 serial bus BUS and, in the link/layer circuit 12, continuity of the received ATRAC data is monitored. When there is an omission, an omission data demand signal for specifying omitted data is transmitted to a host computer 6 from a host computer 16. Thus, these omitted ATRAC data are read from the MD 3 again and transmitted to the link/layer circuit 12.
