PURPOSE: A method for recording a PIP(Picture-In-Picture) function on TVCR(TV/Video Cassette Recorder) having a CANAL decoder is provided to prevent chaos of a TVCR system caused when two CANAL broadcasting signals are received, by recording CANAL broadcasting only which is inputted to a main tuner by control of a micom, when recording CANAL broadcasting of other channel, inputted to a sub tuner and scrambled CANAL broadcasting which are inputted to the main tuner in European TVCR, by decoding the CANAL broadcasting in the CANAL decoder. CONSTITUTION: A method for recording a PIP(Picture-In-Picture) function on TVCR(TV/Video Cassette Recorder) having a CANAL decoder comprises the steps of: inputting a recording key; deciding whether setting up a PIP function when the recording key is inputted; deciding whether a main image signal inputted through a main tuner is a CANAL broadcasting signal, when the PIP function is set up; deciding whether a sub image signal inputted to a sub tuner is the CANAL broadcasting signal, when the main image signal is the CANAL broadcasting signal; recording a mixing image signal when the main image signal or the sub image signal is not the CANAL broadcasting signal; intercepting the sub image signal by control of a micom when the sub image signal is the CANAL broadcasting signal, and recording the main image signal. |
