PURPOSE: A feed forward amplifier is provided to independently conduct an equalizing function from the linear function of the present feed forward amplifier. CONSTITUTION: A splitter(42) receives an input signal that is will be amplified and divides the input signal. A first divided input signal is output to an amplitude adjuster(44) and a second signal is output to a first delay unit(54). The amplitude adjuster and a phase adjuster(46) regularly adjust the amplitude and the phase of the first divided input signal over the whole frequency band. The first delay unit receives the second divided input signal from the splitter and generates a delayed input signal DIS by delaying the signal for a certain time. An eliminating detector(7) controls the amplitude and phase adjuster and also works with an equalization controller(72) so minimizes the abnormal frequent responding components of an error signal ES. Another amplitude and phase adjuster(58,60) regularly adjust the amplitude and phase of the error signal ES under the control of a pilot signal detector(69). A combiner(66) receives an eliminating signal CS and an amplified signal AMP from a second delay unit(68) at once. Therefore, a feed forward amplifier(40A) outputs an amplified signal having a more linear amplitude response and a more plane frequent response.
