PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a moistureproof composition for paper coating, having high moisture resistance free from reduction in moisture resistance in folding, suitable for a moistureproof paper use by mixing a copolymer latex composed of a specific core-shell structure particle with a glassy hollow fine particle and an wax emulsion. SOLUTION: A copolymer latex A composed of a core-shell structure particle comprising 5-50 wt.% of a core part obtained by subjecting 3-15 wt.% of an aliphatic conjugated diene-based monomer 1, 0.2-7 wt.% of an ethylene-based unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer 2 and 80-90 wt.% of an ethylene-based unsaturated monomer 3 except the monomer 2 to emulsion polymerization, having 40-90 deg.C glass transition temperature and 50-95 wt.% of a shell part obtained by subjecting 3-60 wt.% of the monomer 1, 0.2-7 wt.% of the monomer 2 and 35-69 wt.% of the monomer 3 to emulsion polymerization, having -40 to 20 deg.C glass transition point is mixed with a glassy hollow fine particle B in the weight ratio of 99.5-80:0.5-20 and an emulsion wax in an amount of 0.1-20 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the total of the components A and B to give the objective moistureproof composition for paper coating.
