SOLUTION: A plurality of circular arc peripheral walls 40 are formed at the outer peripheral edge of a flange 35 toward a holder 14. When a socket body 12 is assembled to a housing wall 52 in a bayonet joint structure between the flange 35 and an engagement protrusion 38, the ends of the peripheral walls 40 can be put in close contact with the flat cable 51. If one of the peripheral walls 40 is located on the upper side of an insert hole 51c in the flat cable 51, the peripheral wall 40 prevents the adhesion of fallings an external contact piece 27.
