The oropharyngeal air bridge (1) with blocking sleeve (2) involves the sleeve having such properties and shape that with the endotracheal tube already located in the pharynx it seals in the inflated state the pharynx. The blocking sleeve is entirely or partially made of a very expandable and flexible material. It has a volume which is greater than that of the pharynx to be sealed so that when the sleeve is filled it locates tightly around the endotracheal tube located in the pharynx. The blocking sleeve has a recess (3) and a tunnel or a hole. The recess runs along the oropharyngeal air bridge (1). At the proximal end of the oropharyngeal air bridge, an adapter (8) for a customary breathing system is fitted.
