The invention relates to a machining system (10) for machining workpieces (12), especially for polishing workpieces (12). Said machining system (10) has at least two machining stations (14,16,26) on which carriages (18) for workpieces (12) are moveably arranged so that the workpieces (12) can be machined. Drive spindles (22,24) for the workpieces (12) are also provided. Supports (32) are provided for the workpieces. Said supports have at least one section (34) that is used to clamp the workpieces (12) and another section (36) that is provided for engagement with the drive spindles (22,24). At least one clamping surface (40) that is adapted to the drive spindles (22,24) is formed on the section (36) that engages with the drive sprindles (22,24). The inventive machining system enables high precision workpieces (12) to be produced.
