PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process printing by making the top and bottom of a recording paper agree with the top and bottom of a print image even when a recording paper whose top and bottom are preliminarily set is inserted into a printing apparatus in a different direction. SOLUTION: A top-bottom direction of a printing recording face of a recording paper P is set and information (d), (i) indicating an insertion direction to a printing apparatus 3 are applied to the recording paper P. When the recording paper P is inserted to the printing apparatus 3, either of the information (d), (i) is detected by a first paper sensor 13 depending on the insertion direction to the printing apparatus 3. When one information (d) is detected, the recording paper P is judged to have been inserted from a predetermined one direction. As a result, print data of images to be printed which are stored in a print data memory 34a is sequentially read out from a head address and printed as erected images to the recording paper P. When the other information (i) is detected, the recording paper P is judged to have been inserted from an opposite direction, and print data of images to be printed which are stored in the print data memory 34a is sequentially read out from a final address and printed as inverted images to the printing paper P.
