PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device, a method for manufacturing thereof, and a display unit are provided to offer a liquid crystal display device that responds at a high speed and shows a clear contrast in operation. CONSTITUTION: A light-permeable resin layer(26) is uniformly coated on the uppermost surface of a liquid crystal display device. Light-shading plates are located on the upper surfaces of support parts(12) and liquid crystal injecting hollow parts(14). The support parts(12) support light-permeable electrical insulation materials separating the accumulated liquid crystal layer. The liquid crystal injecting hollow parts(14) are provided to charge liquid crystal to form the liquid crystal display device. On the lower side of the liquid crystal display device is light-permeable electrodes(10). Electrodes forming the X-Y matrix with the light-permeable electrodes(10) are located on the lower surface of the liquid crystal layer. Signal lines(28,30) are arranged lengthwise and crosswise on the X-Y matrix.
