PREPARATION METHOD OF BIO FILTER USING PHOTOSYNTHETIC BACTERIA FOR WASTE WATER TREATMENT

PURPOSE: To maintain high photosynthetic bacteria content in wastewater treatment plant, photosynthetic bacteria are immobilized on the media having large specific surface area such as activated carbon or zeolite. Since resultant biofilm has large specific surface area enough to decrease chemical oxygen demand of overflow by one tenth in comparison to MLSS (Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids) process, stable operation that has long sludge age without sludge-bulking can be possible even in the presence of adverse operation factors such as nondecomposable organics, organic overload, pH, and temperature fluctuation. CONSTITUTION: For accumulating photosynthetic bacteria in PBR, Rhodospirillum and Rhodopseudomonas that belong to Athiorhodaceae family of purple non-sulfur bacteria are immobilized on porous ceramic bead in pack-bed reactor (PBR) by continuous inflow or in batch-type reactor.
