PURPOSE: A tunable add/drop multiplexer using a bidirectional optical wavelength demultiplexer is provided to use a smaller number of elements and, simultaneously, perform a function which adds and drops a wavelength. CONSTITUTION: A tunable add/drop multiplexer using a bidirectional optical wavelength demultiplexer adds and drops a light wavelength for an incident light which is multiplexed with a plurality of waves to output a light of a resultant wavelength. The tunable add/drop multiplexer using a bidirectional optical wavelength demultiplexer includes first and second light wavelength multiplexers and demultiplexers(41, 42), and an optic switch(43). The first light wavelength multiplexer and demultiplexer includes an input port, an output port, and a plurality of wave guide. The second light wavelength multiplexer and demultiplexer includes an additional port, a drop port, and a plurality of wave guides. The optic switch decides whether transfers a wavelength among wavelengths, which are respectively inputted through the input port and the additional port, to the output port or to the drop port. A light which is multiplexed with a plurality of wavelengths is inputted to the input port. The output port adds a light of a new wavelength and deletes a light of a predetermined wavelength, thereby offering an output a light multiplexed with resultant wavelengths. Lights of a specific wavelength are respectively inputted or offered an output by the plurality of wave guide. A light which is multiplexed with wavelengths to be added newly is inputted to the additional port. |
