An immunologically uniform streptokinase is obtained by adsorbing a streptokinase-containing aqueous buffer solution (preferably sodium citrate) having a molarity of 0.01 and a pH of 5.0 on a carboxymethyl polysaccharide which has twice been heated to 60 DEG C. for 3 hours with an interval of 2 hours between heatings and eluting the streptokinase from the adsorbent firstly with a 0.02M buffer solution having a pH of 5.5 and subsequently eluting the residual steptokinase with a 0.1 molar buffer solution having a pH of 6.5. Specified adsorbents are carboxymethyl cellulose and cross-linked dextrane etherified with carboxymethyl groups. The starting material may advantageously be streptokinase purified in a known manner, e.g. by alcohol and ammonium sulphate precipitation. |
