PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bending load detection method, bending load detection device, bending method and bending machine for precise bending by a simple and low cost device. SOLUTION: When bending in cooperation of a punch and a die by elevating/ lowering a moving table with an elevation mechanism 11, at the beginning, trial bending is conducted, an arithmetic part 41 of a controller 23 calculates a total bending load from the sum of voltage signals from load sensors arranged in the elevation mechanism 11 as well as calculates a ratio of left/right bending loads based on the voltage signal difference from the left/right load sensors 25 and stores in a memory means 43, in actual bending, a command part 47 of the controller 23 commands the elevation mechanism 11 to reproduce the total bending load and bending load ratio stored in the memory means 43, thus, bending is conducted.
