PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nice-looking liquid crystal display device by eliminating leakage of light from a sealant part. SOLUTION: On surfaces of two insulating substrates 1, 2, electrode patterns 3, 4 are formed respectively and the two insulating substrates 1, 2 are stuck together with a sealant 7 at their circumference forming a specified gap so as to make the electrode patterns 3, 4 placed opposite to each other. A light shielding mask 11 is provided on the insulating substrate 1 at a part where the sealant 7 is provided. Besides, a liquid crystal layer 8 is provided by injecting a liquid crystal material into the specified gap and on outside surfaces of the two insulating substrates 1, 2, polarizing plates 9, 10 are provided respectively. |
