PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orienting device, with which small wooden pieces can be surely oriented to one direction and, at the same time, in which the limitation of the lengths of small wooden pieces is small. SOLUTION: A group 2 of discs is formed by disposing a plurality of near disc-like orienting discs 22, each of which rotates about a horizontal shaft on a plurality of arms extending in parallel to one another from a supporting part 4 provided outside an orienting part in an array in the respective radial directions of the orienting discs 22 nearly horizontally at a predetermined pitch, so as to form orienting passages having a predetermined width among the groups 2 of the discs. At the same time, driving forces transmitted through chains 56 spanned between sprockets 23 provided on the rotating shaft of the respective orienting discs 22 rotatingly drive the respective orienting discs consisting of each group of discs in a series.
